The 1st TEAM Hub Workshop happened at Carleton University on June 26-28th, 2023. We had a chance to listen to amazing talks in several areas, connect with experts from different institutions and of course, visit posters presented by several trainees. The research presented by all trainees was very interesting and the poster judges had a very hard time deciding on the winners of all 3 poster competitions.

We are happy to share that 2 of our PhD students, Nadia Abzan and Natasha Kunchur, got 3rd place awards at the 1st TEAM Hub workshop!

Nadia did a great job explaining her research in lay terms, winning the prize in the ‘Knowledge Translation category with the poster titled ‘The breathtaking mystery!‘, where she explained her journey in developing 3D airway models to better understand the mechanisms involved in asthma.

Natasha secured her prize in the category ‘Technology and Applications’, with the poster ‘Mapping Airway Remodeling in Asthma using Multimodal Raman-Second Harmonic Generation Imaging and Machine Learning’. Her ambitious project combining imaging and machine learning caught the attention of the judges.

Congratulations, Nadia and Natasha!
