Scholarly Work & Research Interests:

The Villeneuve lab in Occupational and Environment Epidemiology aims to understand the health impacts of occupational and environmental exposures.  Much of this research focusses on cancer, although more recently has been expanded to look at risk factors for depression, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease.  Research activities involve record linkage studies of health administrative data, and Dr. Villeneuve current work is investigating the health effects from wildfire smoke exposure, occupational exposure to radiation, diesel and crystalline silica, and the health effects related to features of the urban built environment.  These features include exposure such as access to green spaces, air pollution, noise, and walkability.
