Tanya Halsall is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Carleton University and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Royal's Institute of Mental Health Research affiliated with the University of Ottawa. Her primary research areas are in youth development, evaluation and mental health promotion. Her specific interests are focused on ecological approaches and interventions that support behaviour change to enhance youth well-being. She uses qualitative and mixed methods approaches within her work and has been involved in many community-based participatory studies. Dr. Halsall is currently leading several research projects, including an examination of the implementation and scaling of the Icelandic Prevention Model, a study designed to capture pandemic experiences in outdoor learning and a realist-participatory evaluation of peer support services for youth with complex needs.
