CUPE 2424 Bargaining Update No. 19 – Parties to Resume Talks with External Mediator on Monday, April 2, 2018
Carleton University and CUPE Local 2424 will continue their talks with the assistance of an external mediator on Monday April 2, 2018.
The University campus is open and regularly scheduled classes will continue as usual. The University is hopeful that talks can lead to a negotiated settlement.
Picketing is expected to resume Monday morning. Members of the University community are reminded to exercise caution and patience when crossing the picket lines.
During a legal strike, the striking union has the right to establish a picket line at the vehicle entrances to campus. A picketing protocol signed by the University and the union remains in place with expectations communicated to the union and picket captains. All drivers, pedestrians and cyclists are asked to exercise caution and patience when approaching and exiting a picket line.
