Three Carleton Graduates Make the Cut in the 2018 40 Under 40 Awards
The 2018 Forty Under 40 list was announced on April 24 and three Carleton graduates are among this year’s winners.
Presented by the Ottawa Business Journal (OBJ) and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, the list is in its 21st year and recognizes business leaders who are under the age of 40 and give back to the Ottawa community.
Among nearly 300 applications submitted this year, the Carleton alumni winners are:
- Tyler Dren, director of operations at Corporate Housing Interiors Limited (BComm 2008)
- Pouria Ghods, co-founder and president of Giatec Scientific Inc. (PhD, Civil Engineering 2010)
- Laura Sweet, vice-president, marketing at Assent Compliance Inc. (BComm 2011)
Recipients are assessed on a 40-point system, with a maximum of 20 points for business accomplishments, 10 points for professional expertise and 10 points for community involvement.
The OBJ will profile each recipient in its June 4, 2018 issue, and a gala to celebrate the winners will be held on June 15, 2018 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy.
