Carleton Appalled by New Zealand Terrorist Attacks and Reaffirms Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
This morning we awoke to the horrifying news of the mosque attack in Christchurch, New Zealand. The ongoing investigation indicates at least 50 people of Muslim faith have been killed with several injured. It is a dark day for New Zealand and for the world.
The Carleton community is global. Our colleagues and students are connected across borders and many will feel the impact of this tragedy.
Carleton University condemns all attacks on Muslims and the underlying anti-Muslim hate and bigotry that is reported to have inspired this incident. As a community, we reaffirm our commitment to prevent discrimination and harassment, welcome diversity, and promote greater inclusivity. We are stronger together.

Students who require counselling support can phone or come in person between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, to Health and Counselling Services, CTTC Building, Suite 2600. Beginning at 10:45am, students can check in for same-day counselling hours every afternoon. Students may also call at 613-520-6674 or walk in to schedule an appointment.
