Carleton’s Paul Menton Centre to Celebrate Volunteers with Minister Raymond Cho
Carleton University’s Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities (PMC), which provides academic accommodations and support services, will host a celebration to honour more than 1,800 volunteers – recognizing their dedication and contributions to making Carleton a leader in accessibility.
Formal programming will include remarks by Ontario’s Minister for Seniors and Accessibility Raymond Cho.
When: Monday, April 1, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., formal programming to run from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
Where: Fourth Floor Galleria, University Centre, Carleton
Info: Registration for this event is available online.
Media are invited to attend the event.
The PMC provides a variety of support services to students with disabilities, including one-on-one learning support, note taking, adaptive equipment loans and sign language interpretation. The celebration will feature updates about the PMC’s programs and growth.
In the current academic year alone, almost 90 volunteer opportunities took place and more than 2,000 note-taking requests were filled. This level of success would not have been possible without the efforts of each of the PMC’s volunteers.
A story on the volunteers of the PMC can be found online.
