Hi everyone,

I hope your fall term is off to a good start!

I am writing today to invite our community to the Strategic Integrated Plan (SIP) Launch event, to be held virtually on September 30. Please join us as we celebrate this important milestone!

Inspired by our beautiful location, history and many distinctive strengths, the SIP clearly states Carleton’s aspirations and provides a road map to a bright future. The plan concisely defines three strategic directions:

Share Knowledge, Shape the Future
Serve Ottawa, Serve the World
Strive for Wellness, Strive for Sustainability

The launch is an opportunity to come together and mark the beginning of a new chapter for Carleton. Notwithstanding current circumstances, I am fully confident that this ambitious plan, over time, will become fully realized and that Carleton will rise to new heights of excellence, impact and inclusivity.

This virtual event is part of Carleton’s Throwback, a week focused on opening our doors to the community and honouring our shared history and values. What better moment to celebrate our ambitious vision for the future!

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 30
Time: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

The SIP is a product of Carleton’s engaged and collaborative culture – developed through thousands of conversations with faculty, staff, students, community partners and alumni. It was approved by our Board and Senate in spring 2020.

I am truly grateful for your engagement throughout this important process and look forward to seeing you on September 30!

Sincerely,

Benoit-Antoine Bacon
