The Health Psychology Lab at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario is accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellow. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in projects that examine associations between psychosocial factors and diabetes-relevant health behaviours and outcomes. Data come from large, ongoing cohort studies.

The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Rachel Burns, Dept. of Psychology, Carleton University. Responsibilities will include managing large datasets, project management, running advanced statistical models, writing manuscripts, presenting results, and mentoring students. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with students and international collaborators.

Required qualifications:

  • PhD in psychology or epidemiology or related field with a background in health psychology, behavioural medicine, exercise/sports psychology, or public health
  • Strong quantitative skills and experience analyzing longitudinal data
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with supervision

Duration of appointment: 1 year, with possibility of renewal for a 2nd year.

Start date: June 1, 2025 (though start date is negotiable).

Salary: $60,000/year
