Hi everyone,
Today was a great day for Carleton as we officially launched our beautifully designed Strategic Integrated Plan 2020-2025! A printable version of the SIP is also available.
Many thanks to everyone who attended the launch event this afternoon. It was a bit strange to be speaking to everyone from an empty conference room in Richcraft Hall, but it was fantastic to see so many people – more than 600 – tuning in virtually.
It’s been a year in the making! After an extensive consultation process starting last September (thank you to all who contributed!), the text for our new Strategic Integrated Plan (SIP) was approved last spring.
The new SIP articulates an ambitious vision for our university that is inspired by our beautiful location, distinctive strengths and community-focused, student-centred history. Moving forward, three strategic directions will light the way towards a bright future for Carleton:
- Share Knowledge, Shape the Future.
- Serve Ottawa, Serve the World.
- Strive for Wellness, Strive for Sustainability.
One of the secrets to life is always to be at the beginning of something. Today’s event marks the end of the process that led us to the SIP but, more importantly, it marks a beginning of a new chapter for Carleton.
The SIP belongs to all of us, and it is now our shared responsibility – across faculties, departments and units – to reflect on our strategic directions and bring positive, long-lasting change to our great institution. Carleton’s future is truly bright!
