Biosketch
Holder of BSc Agriculture Extension, MSc in Rural Development and Extension obtained from the University of Malawi, Bunda College of Agriculture. Currently pursuing PhD in Transformative Community Development at Mzuzu University, Malawi. My wider research interest covers areas of women participation in farm decision making processes.
Research Interests and societal interests
Evaluating impact of rural development approaches that aim at promoting the voice of rural women in policy and strategy processes which not only ensures equity, innovation, and access to situated knowledge’s, but also goes a long way towards ensuring adoption of sustainable development measures by women who are the most active group in the agriculture industry.
Expectations as a QES Scholar during the Mobility Period
- Short term: Gain qualitative analytical skills, some quantitative research skills and skills in conducting systematic literature reviews.
- Medium to longer term: Being shaped to be a qualitative research mentor
The QES Project and Advancement of your Career
In particular, I am exploring the potential of ‘Household Approach’ in promoting women participation in farm decision making processes which are among the factors that determine the degree to which women are affected by climate change impacts.
