Award

Our paper, “Multi-label Ambiguity Detection in Software Requirements Using Language Models,” by Paniz Oghabi and Nafiseh Kahani, received the IEEE TCSE Distinguished Best Paper Award (2025). This award recognizes outstanding research contributions in software engineering. The paper explores the use of language models to detect multiple types of ambiguity in software requirements, helping improve the clarity, quality, and reliability of requirements specifications.

The CU ARrival: AR Carleton Tour Guide project received the Best/Most Exciting Project Award for the 2024–2025 4th-Year Capstone Projects. This recognition highlights the team’s creativity, technical innovation, and successful development of an augmented-reality campus navigation tool designed to help users explore and navigate Carleton University more easily. Darren Holden’s Master’s thesis, “Leveraging Language Models to Improve Code Quality Through Code Linting and Automated Test Repair,” was nominated for the Senate Medal at Carleton University.
