Registration

Registration at Carleton is broken into terms. Summer registration normally takes place in March, and classes normally start in May. Fall/Winter registration normally starts in late June, classes normally start in early September.

We know that planning your registration can be stressful, and we know that you may have questions. While we encourage you to read through our registration websites for the answers to many of your questions, you can also contact the Registrar’s Office at 613-520-3500 or at registrar@carleton.ca.

Registration can be overwhelming! Visit the Registration website for helpful information to ensure a smooth registration process.

Enroll as a Non-Degree Student

Carleton University offers non-degree studies. Special Students are those who have not been admitted to a degree program but who are taking courses to qualify for admission, to improve professional qualifications, for transfer credit, or for personal interest. Anyone interested in pursuing learning opportunities is eligible to apply as a Special Student. If you are interested in online learning at Carleton University, our history of offering distance courses has led to a large variety of university credit courses being offered online and allowing students to study at Carleton from a distance.

Rules and Regulations

The Registrar’s Office is governed by a number of important policies. For a successful academic career, it is best to familiarize yourself with the rules outlined in the Undergraduate Academic Calendar. The web edition of the Carleton University Graduate and Undergraduate Calendar is the University’s official statement.

Dates and Deadlines

In addition to the university rules and regulations, it is important for you to stay aware of the important academic dates and deadlines for the current academic year. You can find important dates and deadlines for each terms at the Current Students website.
