9. Community Guidelines
Carleton University social media accounts will have goals related to each unit; however, all accounts share the goal of enhancing CU’s reputation and to keep our various communities (prospects, students, alumni, partners, influencers, employees, and friends) informed of news and updates related to the University.
While the University supports open dialogue, conversation, and debate regarding issues which affect our community, the university reserves the right to moderate social media channels and comments as necessary to respect and protect our students, faculty, staff and greater community.
Per these guidelines, comments or content will be removed if it:
- Compromises the privacy or safety of Carleton University students, staff, or other members of our community
- Contains any form of threat against members of our community
- Targets a specific member or members of our community in a manner deemed offensive, libel, or demeaning
- Contains offensive language or imagery
- Constitutes as sexual harassment or discrimination
- Encourages, motivates, or otherwise implies any form of violence
- Is irrelevant or unsolicited “spam”.
