Final examinations in full winter, late winter and fall/winter courses take place Saturday, April 15 to Thursday, April 27, 2023.

The Exam Support Network will be operating during the final exam period from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is available to help with any exam related issues, questions or emergencies for online and in-person exams.

Scheduling and Examination Services’ Exam Day Information page has answers to common exam-related questions, such as when to arrive to your exam and exam regulations.

For in-person exams, keep an eye on the forecast, as weather may delay your commute. Arriving early guarantees you have time to use the washroom or refill your water before you enter the exam room. In cases of more severe weather keep an eye on @MyCarletonU on Twitter and our weather page to make sure you don’t miss any important updates.

If you have an online exam, you are encouraged to review how to properly navigate the Brightspace platform prior to taking your online exam. Teaching and Learning Services has tips and resources for using Brightspace to help you get ready for finals. Please be aware online examination start and end times are stated in Eastern Daylight Time zone (EDT – Ottawa’s time zone). Should you experience any technical and infrastructure failure while writing your exam, please contact the Exam Support Network.

Exam time is often stressful. Make sure you’re taking time for yourself and your mental health by taking breaks, prioritizing your sleep and maintaining good eating habits. If the stress or anxiety is proving to be too much or if you need to talk to someone, check out the Wellness Services Navigator for a confidential and curated list of mental health and wellness resources. Carleton University undergraduate students have access to free, confidential, 24/7 counselling services in the community – there’s always someone to talk to.
