The results of the UI Green Metric World University Ranking 2021 was announced this week. Carleton was pleased to be ranked 39th overall and 2nd in Canada. There was a significant increase in participants compared to last year year, with 956 universities from over 90 different countries. The rankings are the first and only university rankings in the world that feature each participating university’s commitment in developing an ‘environmental friendly’ university. The rankings look at a number of indicators including infrastructure, energy, climate change and education. While Carleton continues to strive for Sustainability and to ensure the implementation of our key strategic plans, this provides a good signpost of the progress on our long journey towards zero carbon.
