This Friday April 22nd is Earth Day. Earth Day celebrates the Earth’s environment, helps raise awareness of threats to our planet’s health and celebrates efforts towards sustainability improvements. As the U.N. climate science panel’s most recent report found, global emissions are still rising, with the world at risk for runaway climate change. On our campus we are striving to make significant steps towards sustainable practices including reducing carbon emissions and improving waste diversion.
In the build-up to Earth Day, we want you to put your treasure hunt skills to the test, while hopefully learning about Energy and Sustainability initiatives making a difference in our community and on the Carleton campus.
Using the Sustainability Website, and our key strategic plans, you will find the answers to the questions below. The answers are all key targets or fun facts found within our programs and you can only find by browsing and reading more about these Carleton-led initiatives.
Everyone who correctly completes the treasure hunt will be entered into a draw to win one zero-waste prize pack.
Submit your answers by noon on April 26th to ensure you are entered! The winner will be contacted directly via email so please ensure you provide the correct contact information in the form below. For more information, please contact sustainability@carleton.ca
