Omair Shafiq
Omair Shafiq is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Technology. His research interests include Data Modeling, Big Data Analytics, Services Computing, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing.
Shafiq has received several awards throughout his teaching career, such as the Departmental Research Award from University of Calgary in 2009 and 2010, Alberta-Innovates Technology Futures (AITF) Scholarships in 2010 and 2011, NSERC Vanier CGS (2012), and J.B. Hyne Research Innovation Award from University of Calgary (2012), NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship Award and Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship Award in the 2015-2016 competition.
In 2019, Omair Shafiq was awarded the Carleton University New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award.
