How not to do it
The page content below illustrates an example of content which is hard to access. It is
- densely packed
- not broken down into sub-sections or multiple paragraphs
- does not use subheadings
- doesn’t use bullet-points to list out items which could be easily found in this manner

Introducing CU Ecommerce: Your Campus Payment Solution
Web Services and the Office of the CIO proudly offer CU Ecommerce. This in-house online payment service is tailored for the Carleton community. It enables units across the campus to seamlessly accept online credit card payments. All without the hefty expense of engaging a third-party transaction application. Why Choose CU Ecommerce? First of all, the service is PCI Compliant. This means it adheres to Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards, significantly reducing the risk for your department. It also meets University Policies. In other words, it is compliant with all University policies, ensuring a smooth operation. It is also cost-effective. Your department will save money by avoiding expensive third-party solutions, external hosting fees, and taking all the steps required by the University to insure your ecommerce solution meets all legal, privacy, and security rules.
In collaboration with Financial Services, CU Ecommerce makes accepting payments easier. We provide a dedicated payment page for your events or services. ITS also supports the service by subsidizing costs and handling financial processing. This means, for example, you are not responsible for the daily reconciliations with the Business Office.
