Ubuntu, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, and Refugee-Host Community Relations in Malawi: Lessons from Dzaleka and Host Communities
I am an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History, Archaeology and Heritage Studies at the University of Malawi. A 2025 CODESRIA AFRIAK Fellow, I examined policy-practice gaps in the integration of Indigenous Knowledge into primary education. Currently, as an AIReKEMA Research Fellow, my research focuses on how Ubuntu philosophy and Indigenous frameworks can foster peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities in Dzaleka, Mponela, and Kawale, Malawi.
