Governing the Margins: Indigenous Trade Knowledge and Women’s Agency in the Nigeria- Benin Borderlands
Dr Gloria is a historian, academic researcher, and writer interested in the diverse histories, cultures, and social worlds of Nigeria, Africa, and its diasporas. Her research focuses on African and colonial history, borders and migration, informal economies, public health and traditional medicine, archives, and decolonial perspectives on knowledge.
Through multidisciplinary study and writing, she investigates how power, health, and culture influence communities and knowledge systems. She is particularly interested in the connection between historical experience and modern issues like digital governance, data ownership, social justice, and the preservation of marginalised voices.
In addition to her academic work, she has experience in developing research proposals, conference presentations, and professional documents. She also has experience in research coordination, executive assistance, administration, project management, and professional communication. Her goal is to provide rigorous and relevant study while also contributing to inclusive, historically grounded, and socially responsive discussions in academia and beyond.
