Moving beyond Reaction to Action: Integrating Indigenous Knowledge Systems as Instruments for (Trans) border Conflict Resolution in Conflict-Prone Communities in the Mano River Region
Mohamed Sallieu Barrie has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Ghana, and a strong background in Peacebuilding, conflict resolution and security. He is also a community mobilization and advocacy expert with over seven (7) years of experience implementing various health, education, and livelihood projects with both local and international organizations. During this time, he developed a strong interest in activism, community engagement, and making major contributions to improving the lives of the most disadvantaged.
As a research fellow at Carleton University’s AIReKEMA program, his study focuses on integrating indigenous knowledge systems into trans-border conflict resolution in Kaliyereh, a conflict-prone border community between Sierra Leone and Guinea.
