We are now accepting applications for the following Government of Ontario Scholarship:

Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security – Ontario – First Nations Resource Development Scholarship

Terms

The Government of Ontario has established the Ontario – First Nations Resource Development Scholarship to support students attending Ontario’s publicly assisted colleges and universities. The scholarships are awarded to students through their college or university.

The scholarship is intended to respond to the financial barriers faced by First Nations students across Ontario wishing to enter postsecondary institutions and to increase enrolment in programs related to the mining sector where industry has identified a significant labour need.

The scholarship is valued up to a maximum of tuition and ancillary fees, less any external funding, and up to an additional $1,250. Multiple scholarships may be awarded.

The design of the scholarship is meant to be flexible, permitting students to stack funding they may receive from other sources to address program costs while ensuring there is no double payment of these costs.

Eligibility

Applicants must be a status or non-status First Nations student who is a member or connected to a First Nations community in Ontario.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in one of the following undergraduate or graduate degree programs at Carleton University:
