John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Paul Menton Centre, to a student with a Learning Disability proceeding from one year to another who has been involved in student life and is a Canadian citizen. Preference will be given to a student enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Endowed in 2000 by family and friends of Jonathan Brant Teuscher, B.A. 1999. While at Carleton, John touched the lives of many students in his capacity as a volunteer and active participant in student affairs.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of the Paul Menton Centre to students with a permanent physical disability who are in demonstrated financial need and are entering or continuing in any program of study at Carleton University. Preference will be for students enrolled in a program within the Department of History. Established in 2022 by Hollis Peirce, BA/15, MA/19. Endowed 2023.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to deserving students proceeding from one year to another. Two students (for a total of 10 students per year) will be selected from each of the following areas; College of Humanities, Human Rights, Electronics – doing research work in the area of silicon-based optical sensors, the Attendants Service Program, and students with disabilities registered with the Paul Menton Centre. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada (landed immigrant or protected person), and must meet OSAP’s Ontario residency requirements. Should a recipient be a graduate student, the bursary will be awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs. Endowed in 2008 by Ed Ireland. Revised 2009. Revised 2011. John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of the Paul Menton Centre, to undergraduate students with a permanent physical disability who are in demonstrated financial need and are continuing from one year to another in any program of full or part time study at Carleton University. Preference will be given to students pursuing a degree within the Faculty of Engineering and Design. Eligible recipients must be must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), be registered with the Paul Menton Centre. Application is required. Endowed in 2021 by friends and family in memory of Charles Watters.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to one or more blind or visually impaired students. The eligible student(s) must be registered with the Paul Menton Centre; must complete the Carleton University bursary application; be in good academic standing; and able to demonstrate through a brief submission, how this bursary, if awarded, would assist them in furthering the goals of Canadian Council of the Blind within the Carleton community. Eligible recipients must demonstrate financial need, must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), and must meet the OSAP Ontario Residency requirements. Endowed in 2006 by the Canadian Council of the Blind.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Value $6,000. Awarded on the recommendation of the Director of the Paul Menton Centre, to three outstanding undergraduate students with a demonstrated permanent disability who are enrolled in any program of study at Carleton University. Eligible students will be Canadian citizens. Preference will be given to students in financial need. This scholarship may be renewable for up to 3 consecutive years of full-time enrolment at a value of $6,000 per year. Established in 2019 by the Walker Wood Foundation. Revised 2023.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Valued at $3,000, the purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to an undergraduate student with a permanent disability who is starting their first year of study or proceeding from one year to another in any program of study at Carleton University. The award will be granted annually, on the recommendation of the Paul Menton Centre and an application by the student will be required. Eligible recipients will be Canadian citizens.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Paul Menton Centre to an outstanding undergraduate student entering or proceeding from one year to another at Carleton University. Eligible students will have a permanent disability and be registered with the Paul Menton Centre and must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada. Preference will be given to a female student. Established by CFUW-Ottawa Club at the request of Fran Harding and funded through generous donations from Fran and other CFUW-Ottawa Club members. It is named in honour of Susan Scott Parker, a Canadian, who is an advocate for the rights of disabled persons in the United Kingdom. Revised 2017.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Value $5,000. Awarded on the recommendation of the Director of the Paul Menton Centre, to outstanding students with a documented permanent physical disability entering a program of study on a full time basis within the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Science, the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs or the Bachelor of Commerce program. Recipients will demonstrate academic excellence, community service, leadership and commitment to making a difference in their larger communities. Application is required. The award may be continued for three consecutive years of undergraduate study provided the recipient maintains full-time enrolment (minimum of 4.0 credits over the Fall/Winter session) in an eligible undergraduate degree program and remains in good academic standing. Established in 2019 by Daryl Rock BA/86, MA/88.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Paul Menton Centre to an outstanding student entering or proceeding from one year to another at Carleton University who is in demonstrated financial need. John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually, when merited, to a student in good standing enrolled in a program at Carleton University, University of Ottawa, La Cite Collegiale or Algonquin College who has made a significant contribution toward awareness, equality and integration of persons with disabilities within their educational community. The recipient will be chosen on the recommendation of the Assistant Director (Special Needs), Counselling & Student Life Services at Carleton University, assisted by a Selection Committee. Endowed in 1992 by students, family and friends of Dr. John Davis Burton, who was a champion and advocate for persons with disabilities throughout his career as an educator.

John Teuscher Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Chair of the Department of English Language and Literature, to an undergraduate, or graduate student whose area of interest is Indigenous Literature. This award was established in 2001 by family, friends, and colleagues of Wilfred Peltier, Odawa pipecarrier, who passed away in July 2000. Associated some 20 years with Carleton University, Peltier served as an Elder-in-Residence in the Department of Sociology/Anthropology as well as adviser to the Centre for Aboriginal Education, Research and Culture.
- No application is required for this scholarship. At the end of each academic year, the English Department will nominate or recommend outstanding students as potential recipients.
