Mohawk Nation Education Bursary
Awarded annually to undergraduate students in demonstrated financial need who are registered members of a Mohawk territory and are entering or continuing in any full-time program of study at Carleton University. Preference will be given to registered members of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.) Endowed in 2020, this bursary honors and respects the land, language, and culture of the Mohawk People. Above all, it is a Tribute to our Elders. Revised 2023.

Mohawk Nation Education Bursary
Gordon Robertson, the former Chancellor and Chancellor Emeritus of Carleton University, established this scholarship to encourage and promote higher rates of postsecondary completion for Inuit students. This scholarship is awarded annually to one or two full-time Inuit students either entering or continuing a program of study at Carleton University.

Mohawk Nation Education Bursary
Established by The Métis Nation of Ontario through the Métis Training Initiatives and awarded on the basis of financial need to registered undergraduate students in any faculty or school at Carleton University who are verified Métis citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario. The value of this bursary will vary based on financial need and availability of funds.
Applicants will be required to consent to a citizenship verification check to confirm eligibility for these awards. To apply for this bursary, the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) will provide Carleton University students a letter to verify citizenship. Please include the verification letter with your bursary application.
Eligibility:
- Undergraduate students, enrolled full-time or part-time, who are verified Métis citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO)
- Métis citizenship verification check to confirm eligibility for these awards is required
- Must have demonstrated financial need and must meet OSAP’s Ontario Residency requirements
Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Citizenship Verification:
- Complete the MNO Bursary Citizenship Verification Form by creating an account (This will involve providing key demographic information and consent to have citizenship status checked by the MNO’s 3rd party Registry)
- MNO will provide students at Carleton University with a letter to verify citizenship – Please submit your citizenship confirmation letter with this application.
