“I found the B.PAPM program to be quite helpful both throughout my further studies and now in the practice of law. In particular, I found the study of public policy lent itself quite well to law school, in that both disciplines require a balancing of empirical facts, moral considerations, and various external constrains. I further found that the interdisciplinary nature of the program provided me with a range of options when I did graduate, while the basic understanding of economics, finance and law gave me a foundation from which to start my JD/MBA.

I went into the program very much so thinking that I’d want to work in some aspect of the government or political sphere, but soon realized that it wasn’t for me. The range of classes and co-op opportunities offered in the program quickly showed me that I was far more interested in private practice, and in that sense I think that the ability to explore multiple academic disciplines is a strength of the program. It provides the ability to continue learning about your interests, while simultaneously providing you with opportunities to pursue those interests in school and through work placements. In particular, I credit my four-time professor Vlasios Melessanakis with opening my eyes to world of financial and banking regulation, which was ultimately the driving force behind my decision to pursue the joint law-MBA degree that I completed after my time at Carleton.”
