Lindsay Osborne wins two awards

In April 2009, Lindsay Osborne won the GSA Honour Award. The GSA Honour award was established by the GSA council in 2001 in order to recognize those graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to Carleton, and the graduate community specifically.

She also was a winner of the 2009 Google Global Community Scholarship. The Global Community Scholarship offers funding for a group of students outside the U.S. to attend the annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, held in Tucson, Arizona at the end of September. While at the conference Lindsay and 5 other WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) members made a presentation called “Building Support Groups for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math”.  Lindsay works under the supervision of Professor Zalok.
