New Masters program launched
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs launched their new, unique, and multi-disciplinary Masters program in Infrastructure Protection and International Security (MIPIS) at the Baker’s Grill on October 22, 2010. The event was attended by members of the Carleton community, federal government, and the private sector. A keynote address presented by Sandy Harvey of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on the Osage investigation, (investigation leading to arrest prosecution of the infamous “Toronto 18”), highlighted the need for professionals with a cross-disciplinary understanding of the multitude of threats to the health, safety, security, and economic well being of the Canadian population. All MIPIS faculty and staff wish to express their appreciation for the ongoing sponsorship and support for our new program from government and private industry as we develop the next generation of leaders in critical infrastructure protection.
