Master student Gunay wins Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement
M.A.Sc. student H. Burak Gunay receives the Carleton University Senate Medal for his research. Under the supervision of Professor O. Burkan Isgor, Mr. Gunay’s research involved the investigation of the kinetics of corrosion of iron and carbon steel in simulated concrete pore solutions. The outcomes of this research are expected to lead to the development of new types of inexpensive corrosion-resistant steels and inhibitors that will make concrete less favourable to corrosion.
