Professor Hadjisophocleous awarded best paper of symposium
Professor Hadjisophocleous attended the International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security in New York, where he presented two papers. The first paper presented experimental work on the interaction of tunnel suppression with tunnel ventilation systems and the second experimental results on the heat release rate of railcar fires. The second paper was selected as the best paper of the symposium. This award is given to a paper that contains very interesting experimental analysis of high quality, and the procedures and results are presented in a clear and sound engineering manner and the results are of great importance for future rail tunnel projects.
