Carleton students win CSCE National Capstone Design Project Competition

Montreal, June 1, 2013: A Carleton University Civil Engineering design project group supervised by Professor Ata Khan won the first prize in the inaugural National CSCE Capstone Design Project Competition held at the CSCE Annual Conference in Montreal.   The winning project was titled “Carling Avenue Light Rail Transit”. The group participants included Nyishi Muchima, Ben Pascolo-Neveu, Gosego Motukwa, Naser Snobar, Pubudu Herath and Saeid Matin. Although there were six Senior Year Civil Engineering students involved in the project, the competition rules allowed two members to make the presentation. The Capstone Project evaluation was based on a mark of 100: 85% was allotted to the project report and 15% to the poster presentation.
