Prof. Liam O’Brien was awarded an Early Researcher Award
The Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation has announced that Liam O’Brien was awarded the Early Researcher Award, worth $150,000, to support the Human Building Interaction Lab’s research. The funded research will focus on better passive design and technologies to improve comfort and energy performance of new high-rise residential buildings (e.g., condominiums). Over half of new homes in Canada’s major urban areas are high-rise or attached buildings, yet most research is still aimed at suburban detached houses. The primary theme of the research is to understand the two-way interaction between occupants and their homes and how this impacts energy performance. Research Excellence at Carleton Recognized
