PhD student Oztaner wins Ontario Trillium Scholarship

Yasar Burak Oztaner has won the Ontario Trillium Scholarship, which is one of the prestigious scholarships for international students in Ontario, Canada.  This scholarship program serves as a significant initiative to attract more of the best qualified international students to Ontario for PhD.  The scholarship is worth $40,000 for up to four years. Burak has been also selected by Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs (FGPA) for Carleton University International Doctoral Excellence Program for the year of 2016 – 2017.

Yasar Burak Oztaner, is a PhD student working in Dr. Amir Hakami’s Research Team.

“After meeting with Prof. Amir Hakami’ Research Team, working on atmospheric modeling and decision making studies, which is also among the best in this field, I became interested in perusing my PhD studies in this area in Carleton. I believe that studying and earning a PhD in Carleton University (Environmental Engineering Department) would give me invaluable experience to reach my ultimate goal.  Carleton thoroughness and care towards students, is fascinating and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to do my PhD here at Carleton.
