Prof. Kamal Hossain talks to CBC on how potholes and climate change are linked
Dr. Kamal Hossain, associate professor in Transport Engineering, talks with CBC Ottawa on how climate change is a major factor to why the pothole problem will continue to persist.
He talks about how hotter temperatures in Ottawa contribute to causing the asphalt to soften. This asphalt is traditionally used with a glue that is highly sensitive to heat which ultimately results in weaker roads.
