Zoé Jeaurond won the Best Student Paper award in the 2024 Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE) conference

Congratulations to Zoé Jeaurond, Master of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering student, who won the Best Student Paper Award in the Environmental Speciality Division at the 2024 Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE) Conference held in Niagara Falls from June 5th to 7th. Her paper is titled “Does your Backwash Matter? Influences on Filter Media Health.”

Under the supervision of Prof. Onita Basu, Zoé’s is in collaboration with the City of Ottawa doing a full-scale research project that aims to optimize biofilter performance and backwashing strategies.
