Elena Zabolotnii Receives New Funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s (CFI) John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) for More Sustainable Practices in the Mining Industry
Congratulations to Professor Elena Zabolotnii for being awarded the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI)’s John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF).
This new funding will go towards her and her team’s efforts in developing reliable ways of securing mining by-products across Canada using large-scale soil experiments and advanced sensor monitoring.
Using CFI funding, Professor Zabolotnii’s team will use cutting-edge sensor systems to monitor the tailings materials’ mechanical behaviour in large-scale physical experiments at Carleton University.
