Accelerated Pathway in Civil and Environmental Engineering
The accelerated pathway a flexible and individualized plan of graduate study. Students in the final year of Bachelor of Engineering in Civil, Environmental, or Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering with excellent academic records, and demonstrated an aptitude for graduate studies and research may qualify for this option. At this time, you can consider this option if you plan to pursue your master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
Admission requirements:
- A CGPA of 10.0 or higher
- Going into their final year of undergraduate study
- Intending to apply to a Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering in the following academic year
Upon approval for the accelerated pathway, students will replace a maximum of 1.0 credit of their engineering electives with 5000 level CIVE or ENVE courses (depending on the graduate program you intend to apply for). Students will receive advanced standing for the approved 5000 level courses in which they receive a grade of A- or higher. Please note that participation in a graduate pathway does not guarantee admission to the graduate program, but if you are admitted, your advanced standing will reduce your credit load in graduate studies by up to two courses, and may shorten your time to completion. If you are interested, please consult with your undergraduate advisor and the graduate office, ideally before you commence your fourth year of studies.
To apply, please complete the form below and forward it to the graduate administrator via email. Copy the Associate Chairs responsible for both the Graduate and Undergraduate programs in your email. You are also encouraged to initiate your graduate application at this time, and talk with potential supervisors.
