Craig Houle is Senior Geotechnical Engineer, formerly Principal at Houle Chevrier Engineering Ltd., and is an original founder of the company.  Houle Chevrier Engineering Ltd. is a leading geotechnical and environmental consulting company in Eastern Ontario.  Founded in 1994, the company specializes in geotechnical, hydrogeological and subsurface environmental engineering and provides expert advice to a wide range of clients including municipalities, engineering consultants, various government agencies, developers, architects, conservation authorities, builders, contractors and homeowners.  In 2013, Houle Chevrier Engineering Ltd. merged with Gemtec Ltd.  Combined, Houle Chevrier Engineering and Gemtec have over 150 engineers and technical staff with offices throughout Eastern Canada, Eastern Ontario and Montreal.

Craig has over 30 years of engineering experience in design, project management, construction inspection and testing, forensic investigations and as an expert witness in litigation involving a wide range of geotechnical, environmental and hydrogeology projects.  This includes responsibility for geotechnical investigations for commercial, institutional and housing developments, site servicing, retaining walls, slope stability and erosion, pavement design/evaluations and rehabilitation options, stormwater management facilities, deep foundations, tunnels, Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, hydrogeology studies for rural developments and geotechnical/environmental forensic studies.

Prior to founding the company, Craig was a senior geotechnical engineer at Golder Associates in Ottawa.  Prior to joining Golder Associates, Craig was a Research Professional at Carleton University in the Department of Civil Engineering from 1983 to 1985 and was a Sessional Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering from 1982 to 1983.
