Stan Cheer
Stan is a Construction Manager with PCL Construction in the Ottawa Buildings division with over 30 years of experience working in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) construction sector for both public and private clients. In 2006, Stan was appointed Manager of Special Projects Division, a segment of our operations which entails such work as highly-customized small-scale renovations, fit-outs, restoration, or constructing a specialized building delivered on a fast-track and tight budget. Stan managed a team of more than 20 project managers, superintendents, and coordinators; pursued work; and was the main liaison with clients. Stan held this role for ten years, before transitioning to the Centre Block Rehabilitation and subsequently the Parliamentary Precinct Campus Program as construction manager, where he collaborates daily with federal government stakeholders, as well as managing a construction team of over 70 personnel. Stan’s experience ranges from project pursuits, contract negotiations, project execution to closeouts having worked on over 200 projects in the Ottawa area.
Throughout his career, Stan has held several board and committee positions, such as, YMCA – Power of Trades, Ottawa Construction Labour Relations, and Algonquin College (Building Science and Civil Engineering Programs). These positions provided connection and insight to future growth/improvement for each industry group.
