From the start of his career, Peter has been very active in the planning, design and implementation of many of Ottawa’s most significant transportation infrastructure projects. He worked initially in the private sector as a consultant with McCormick Rankin Corporation (MRC), and then moved to the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. During this period he gained extensive experience in the detailed design and construction of Ottawa’s world renowned bus-based Transitway.
In 2001 he joined the City of Ottawa’s Planning Department as the Program Manager for Transportation Planning where he was Project Manager for several key high-profile transportation studies. In this role, he was deeply involved in the development of Ottawa’s emerging plan for Light Rail Transit (LRT).
After 19 years in the public sector, he joined MMM Group as a Senior Project Manager responsible for the delivery of transit, road and bridge planning studies and design projects for municipal sector clients. In the Fall of 2016 Peter joined Parsons Inc., working in their Transportation Planning Department where he is involved in the development of projects that are critical to the mobility of Ottawa residents, each of which involves extensive public consultation activities, including liaison and coordination with key project stakeholders as well as municipal, provincial and federal approval agencies.
Recognized as an innovative thinker with effective communication skills, Peter has a proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary planning and engineering teams to deliver high-profile complex projects under tight timelines, while balancing stakeholder, public and political expectations.
