Chemistry professor J. David Miller received a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Award at a ceremony at Rideau Hall on February 16 hosted by the Governor General. The NSERC Awards recognize the work of Canada’s top scientists and engineers. Professor Miller’s award, the Synergy Award for Innovation, honours the collaborative research he and his team have undertaken with New Brunswick’s J.D. Irving, Ltd., to improve pest and disease tolerance in conifer trees.
