About the Book
We Need to Talk About Menopause explores the lived experiences of women navigating menopause through personal stories and research-informed analysis. Drawing on the experiences of 60 women, the book examines the physical, emotional, social, and workplace impacts of menopause while encouraging greater understanding, open conversation, and support for women during this important life transition.

Anne Bowker
Anne is Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Professor of Developmental Psychology at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.


Janet Mantler
Janet is Associate Professor in the Psychology of Work and Director for the Centre for Initiatives in Education at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada


Chizorom Ogbuagu
Chizorom is a Communications Advisor at Canadian Heritage and holds a master’s degree in Anthropology from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.


Emma Bider
Emma currently works as a climate communications researcher and trainer with the NGO Re.Climate based in Ottawa, Canada. She holds a PhD in Anthropology.
