During the reading week, our Decolonial Disability Studies Collaborative (DDSC) Lab had a very productive meeting with the participation of all members, regardless of our different time zones and locations.

At Carleton University, we had a small team reunion in person after a very long time and celebrated the belated Lunar New Year. In this meeting, we not only updated our work tasks but also engaged in a profound discussion on the ableist assumptions and resistance stemming from the lived experiences of girls and women with disabilities from the Global South.

There are 7 people in the Zoom meeting, with 4 individuals appearing on the same screen, all holding fortune cakes.

The image above shows a screenshot from Zoom. Team members in the image are Jessica McCarthy, Phuong Tran, Dr. Thuy Nguyen, Linh Dang, Hoa Bui, Nhi Truong and Dana Corfield.

Wishing you a fantastic new week ahead, filled with renewed energy and determination after returning from a refreshing reading week!
