Dr. Shona Wilde is a Research Associate at EERL, where she supports the ongoing development of measurement-based methane inventories for the upstream oil and gas sector in Western Canada. Her recent work focuses on leveraging multi-year aerial measurement data to generate policy-relevant insights as regulatory frameworks continue to evolve. She is also actively involved in fieldwork projects, including a recent campaign measuring exhaust emissions from natural gas compressor engines in Colombia. Shona joined the lab in 2023 after completing her PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry at the University of York (UK), where she studied emissions from the UK oil and gas industry.
