What is it?
A budget adjustment is a financial transaction that increases or decreases the existing budget value of one account or group of accounts.
Why is it important?
Administrators may make adjustments within a departmental operating budget or from one departmental operating budget to another. Administrators are not permitted to make an adjustment directly to another type of Fund outside of operating (e.g. from operating to research).
Where do I find more information?
The FAST Budgeting and Forecasting system allows you to request budget adjustments and view your budget adjustment history. All departmental administrators, or other people involved with departmental or operational budget management for Carleton University, should have access to and be using FAST Budget and Forecasting.
