The Joint Chair in Women’s Studies (JCWS) at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa invites you to an Atlas in a Day workshop, on the theme of fragility. Come join us for a hands-on workshop in which you’ll learn how to use maps to tell stories, create your own map in just one day, and make an atlas on the theme of fragility in collaboration with the other workshop participants. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned mapmaker, this workshop will offer a unique opportunity to explore the potential of maps to tell stories, inspired by the “Atlas in a Day” experiments from the Guerilla Cartography collective.

When: Friday, May 3rd, form 9am to 5pm

Where: At the Book Arts Lab, MacOdrum Library

Participants are encouraged to think ahead of time about an idea for their map on the theme of fragility, understood in the broadest possible terms.

Lunch will be provided! Please register by April 26, spots are limited!
