John Coleman

Mr. Coleman is a Senior Fellow at Carleton University’s School of Public Policy and Administration.  In 2011 he retired from the National Research Council of Canada, where he held senior positions including Vice-President of Engineering, and Director General of Surface Transportation Technology. He is a member of the National Board of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in North America, as well as corporate Treasurer and chair of its Education Committee, and a member of Transport Canada’s Railway Research Advisory Board. At Carleton he teaches a masters-level course on Canadian Transportation Policy, now an annual offering, and has contributed research reports to the Canada Transportation Act Review Panel in 2015 and the Railway Safety Act Review Panel in 2017
