Mario Santana Quintero

Mario Santana Quintero is a professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering, cross-appointed to the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism (Carleton University) and a faculty member of the Carleton Immersive Media Studio (CIMS). In addition to his academic work in Canada, he serves as Secretary-General of the International Council for Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and treasurer of ICOMOS Canada. He is a past president of the ICOMOS Scientific Committee on Heritage Documentation (CIPA). Professor Santana has collaborated with The Getty Conservation Institute, UNESCO and other partners on many international projects in heritage documentation. He has long-standing international expertise in training and capacity building with students and professionals in the use of advanced surveying techniques for building assessments.
