French Training

As a graduate student in Canada, one of the most important things you can do to boost your employability is develop your French language skills. French is an asset or requirement for many positions in government, the non-profit sector, and elsewhere.

While there are lots of options out there for learning French, not all of them provide comprehensive instruction. Why not take advantage of what Carleton offers!

Carleton’s French as a Second Language courses follow the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), an international standardized guideline recognized by employers and institutions worldwide. They are open to students from all faculties, schools, and departments, although you must take a placement test in order to determine the appropriate courses for your level of proficiency. Courses range from total beginner to advanced level.

To find out more, and to access the placement test, visit the French department’s page on French as a Second Language.
