PhD Research: Performance of Hollow FRP piles under static and seismic loading
Aliu is a PhD Candidate who joined the group in Sep. 2020. Aliu is focused on developing a numerical model for simulating both static and seismic performance of Hollow Fiber-Reinforced Polymer piles in different soils. FRP piles have been recently used in harsh and corrosive environemnt, and we are trying to examine the use of these piles in potentially liquefiable soils. These models will be calibrated and verified based on shaking table tests recently conducted on FRP piles in GRG.
